THE 7-INCH WIRELESS WORKSHOP TABLET
Full-system diagnostics, advanced active testing, selected ECU coding and 50 service functions with the freedom of a Bluetooth VCI.
The iCarsoft CR Max BT is the wireless 7-inch diagnostic tablet in the iCarsoft all-makes range. It is designed for independent workshops, mobile technicians, fleet maintenance and serious home users who want full workshop capability without being tethered to the vehicle by a diagnostic cable.
It combines full-system diagnostics across 58 supported vehicle makes with bi-directional active testing, selected ECU coding and configuration functions, AutoVIN, 50 service procedures, CAN-FD support, diagnostic reports and lifetime free Wi-Fi updates. The compact Bluetooth VCI remains connected to the vehicle while the tablet can be carried wherever the work is taking place.
WHERE IT FITS
The CR Max BT uses the same practical 7-inch tablet format as the CR Max but replaces the direct vehicle cable with a wireless Bluetooth VCI. The CR Max P sits above both with a larger 10-inch screen, double the battery capacity and standard DoIP connection hardware.
The wireless connection becomes particularly useful during active testing and fault finding. The VCI can remain in the OBD port while the tablet is carried to the engine bay, rear of the vehicle, passenger side or workshop bench.
This makes it easier to watch cooling fans, lights, windows, door locks, pumps and other supported components respond while the command is sent from the tablet. It also keeps the diagnostic lead away from the driver’s footwell and gives technicians more freedom during regular workshop use.
Move around the vehicle
Carry the tablet to the component being tested instead of working beside the OBD port.
Observe active tests
Watch supported pumps, fans, locks, lights and actuators respond in real time.
Workshop-scale capability
Full-system scanning, selected coding, service functions and saved diagnostic reports.
The supplied VCI plugs into the vehicle’s 16-pin diagnostic port and communicates with the tablet over Bluetooth. Once paired, the tablet can be used around the vehicle without a physical diagnostic lead running back to the OBD socket.
The VCI is powered through the vehicle connection, while the tablet uses its own rechargeable battery. A connection indicator in the software confirms when communication is active.
Wireless range and stability can be affected by distance, workshop structures and electrical interference, so the tablet should remain reasonably close to the vehicle during diagnostic work.
Unlike a basic OBD2 reader, the CR Max BT is designed to communicate with manufacturer-specific control modules throughout supported vehicles. Depending on the vehicle, this can include engine, transmission, ABS, airbags, steering, body control, climate control, electronic parking brake, suspension, lighting, doors, windows, seats, gateway modules and other fitted systems.
Available functions include reading and clearing fault codes, viewing ECU information, live data and freeze-frame information, carrying out a complete vehicle scan and opening individual modules for more focused diagnosis.
The exact systems available depend on the vehicle make, model, year, market specification and fitted control modules.
Bi-directional control allows the CR Max BT to send commands to supported modules and components rather than only reading stored information. This can help confirm whether a component responds correctly before parts are replaced.
Depending on the vehicle, active tests can include the ABS pump motor, fuel pump, cooling fans, window regulators, door locks, throttle actuator, mirrors, lights, horn, wipers, HVAC components, relays and other supported electrical systems.
Active-test coverage varies by vehicle make, model, year and fitted ECU. A test available on one vehicle may not be available on another.
The CR Max BT supports selected coding, adaptation and configuration functions on compatible vehicles from BMW, Volkswagen Group, Hyundai and Kia, Ford, Mazda, Renault, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Subaru.
Depending on the vehicle, this may include component adaptation, module matching, parameter calibration, selected programmable settings, data migration and supported feature configuration. Availability varies significantly by make, model, year and ECU.
This is not universal online dealer programming or unrestricted blank-module programming. Confirm the exact vehicle and required coding function before purchase.
The CR Max BT combines nine commonly used service functions with 41 additional workshop procedures for supported vehicles.
Additional supported procedures can include transmission adaptations, air suspension service, airbag functions, headlamp calibration, window and seat calibration, EGR and AdBlue routines, clutch matching, crankshaft learning, turbocharger functions, NOx sensor reset, radar and camera calibration and other vehicle-specific maintenance procedures.
Service functions vary by vehicle make, model, year, system and ECU configuration. A function listed in the tool does not mean it is available on every supported vehicle.
AutoVIN can identify compatible vehicles automatically after connection, reducing manual setup and helping the tool select the correct diagnostic software. Where AutoVIN is not supported, the vehicle can still be selected manually through the menus.
CAN-FD is supported on compatible later-model vehicles, including selected 2020-onward GM and Chrysler-group platforms.
The CR Max BT is also DoIP-ready for selected modern BMW, Volvo, Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles, but the required DoIP connection hardware is not included as standard and must be purchased separately.
Some late-model vehicles use manufacturer security gateways that can restrict active tests, service functions or coding. Access depends on the vehicle and manufacturer requirements.
The CR Max BT supports all 10 standard OBD2 test modes on compatible OBDII, EOBD, JOBD, KOBD, CAN and CAN-FD vehicles. This includes reading and clearing emissions-related codes, I/M readiness, live data, freeze-frame data, vehicle information, oxygen-sensor tests, onboard monitor tests, EVAP-system testing and pending codes.
The Android tablet uses a 7-inch 1024 × 600 touchscreen, quad-core 1.3GHz processor, 64GB internal storage and a 5000mAh rechargeable battery. Battery life is rated at up to approximately five hours of continuous use.
The larger screen provides more room for live-data graphs, system scans and fault information, while Wi-Fi allows software updates to be installed directly on the tablet. Updates remain free for the life of the tool with no annual subscription.
Previously tested vehicle systems can be reopened from the tablet, making it easier to return to an ongoing job. Diagnostic reports can be saved and shared, then printed through a Windows computer using a USB connection.
A built-in feedback function also allows diagnostic LOG information to be submitted when software coverage or communication issues need review.
The CR Max BT can also be used with selected optional iCarsoft accessories, including the VDSP2000 videoscope for inspecting confined areas and the BT900 battery tester for supported battery and charging-system checks. These accessories are sold separately.

BEFORE YOU ORDER
Diagnostic systems, service functions, active tests and coding vary by vehicle. Check the official iCarsoft Function List before ordering when a particular capability is essential.
Choose the CR Max BT if you want full-system all-makes diagnostics in a 7-inch tablet format, together with active testing, selected coding, 50 service functions and the freedom to carry the tablet around the vehicle.
It is particularly well suited to workshops and mobile technicians who regularly run component tests or work away from the driver’s seat. Where wireless operation is not important, the standard CR Max offers similar core diagnostic capability with a direct cable. For the largest screen, longer battery life and standard DoIP hardware, compare the CR Max P.
