Full-System Diagnostics

Unlike a basic OBD2 reader, the CR Pro+ is designed to communicate with manufacturer-specific control modules throughout supported vehicles. Depending on the vehicle, this can include engine, transmission, ABS, airbags, steering, body control, climate control, electronic parking brake, suspension, lighting, seats, doors, gateway modules and other fitted electronic systems.

Available diagnostic functions include reading and clearing fault codes, viewing ECU identification, checking live data and freeze-frame information, carrying out a full vehicle scan and opening individual supported modules for more focused fault finding.

The exact systems available depend on the vehicle make, model, year, specification and fitted control modules.

Bi-Directional Control and Active Testing

The CR Pro+ goes beyond reading stored information. On supported vehicles, it can send commands directly to selected modules and components so their response can be checked during diagnosis.

The CR Pro+ combines nine commonly used service functions with 39 additional higher-level workshop routines for supported vehicles.

Additional supported routines can include air suspension service, air-conditioning functions, headlamp calibration, engine and transmission adaptations, airbag functions, window and seat calibration, fuel-pump activation, idle adjustment, EGR and AdBlue procedures, clutch matching, water-pump activation, crankshaft learning, turbocharger functions, NOx sensor reset, radar and camera calibration, oxygen-sensor service and other make-specific procedures.

Service functions vary by vehicle make, model, year, system and ECU configuration. A function listed in the tool does not mean it is available on every supported vehicle.

AutoVIN and Vehicle Identification

AutoVIN can identify compatible vehicles automatically after connection, reducing manual setup and helping the tool select the correct diagnostic software. Where AutoVIN is not supported, the vehicle can still be selected manually through the menus.

Full OBD2 and Emissions Diagnostics

The CR Pro+ supports all 10 standard OBD2 test modes on compatible OBDII, EOBD, JOBD, KOBD, CAN and CAN-FD vehicles. CAN-FD Support

CAN-FD is a newer vehicle communication protocol used by selected later-model platforms. The CR Pro+ supports CAN-FD diagnostics on compatible 2020-onward GM and Chrysler-group vehicles.

Some late-model vehicles use manufacturer security gateways that can restrict active tests, resets or other advanced functions. Gateway access and exact function availability depend on the vehicle.

Practical Handheld Design

The CR Pro+ uses a 4.3-inch 800 × 480 colour display with physical buttons. This gives it a straightforward interface that can be operated while wearing gloves and avoids accidental touchscreen inputs around the workshop.

Software updates are completed through a Windows computer using the supplied TF card reader. Updates remain free for the life of the tool, with no annual software subscription.

Diagnostic History and Reports

Previously tested vehicle systems can be reopened from the tool, making it easier to review earlier results or return to an ongoing job. Diagnostic reports can be saved and shared, then printed by connecting the CR Pro+ to a Windows computer through USB.
