Full-System Diagnostics

The CR Pro S is designed to communicate with manufacturer-specific control modules throughout supported vehicles, not only the engine system. Depending on the vehicle, this can include engine, transmission, ABS, airbags, steering, body control, electronic parking brake, climate control, lighting, doors, windows, seats, suspension, battery management, gateway modules and other fitted systems.

Available functions include reading and clearing fault codes, viewing ECU information, checking live data and freeze-frame information, carrying out a complete vehicle scan and opening individual modules for more focused diagnosis.

The exact systems available depend on the make, model, year, market specification and fitted control modules.

Bi-Directional Control and Active Testing

Bi-directional control allows the CR Pro S to send commands to supported modules and components rather than only reading stored information. This can help confirm whether the component itself responds before replacement parts are ordered.

Depending on the vehicle, active tests can include fuel pumps, injectors, cooling fans, headlights, window regulators, door locks, mirrors, throttle actuators, ignition coils, ABS pump motors, HVAC components, relays and other supported electrical systems.

iCarsoft lists more than 4000 individual active-test items across supported vehicles. This is a combined software total, not a promise that every test is available on every vehicle.

Selected ECU Coding and Adaptations

The CR Pro S supports selected coding, adaptation and configuration functions on compatible vehicles from BMW, Volkswagen Group, Hyundai and Kia, Ford, Mazda, Renault, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Subaru.

Depending on the vehicle, this may include component matching, module adaptation, parameter calibration, selected programmable settings, data migration and supported feature configuration.

This is not universal online dealer programming, key programming or unrestricted blank-module programming. Confirm the exact vehicle and required coding function before purchase.

50 Service and Maintenance Functions

The CR Pro S combines nine commonly used service functions with 41 additional higher-level routines for supported vehicles.

Additional supported procedures can include transmission adaptations, air suspension service, air-conditioning routines, headlamp calibration, airbag functions, window and seat calibration, EGR and AdBlue procedures, clutch matching, crankshaft learning, turbocharger functions, NOx sensor reset, radar and camera calibration and other vehicle-specific operations.

Service functions vary by vehicle make, model, year, system and ECU configuration. A listed function is not available on every supported vehicle.

CAN-FD and Later-Model Vehicles

CAN-FD is supported on compatible later-model platforms, including selected newer GM and Chrysler-group vehicles. This improves communication with vehicles that may not be fully accessible using older diagnostic hardware.

Some late-model vehicles use manufacturer security gateways that can restrict active tests, service procedures or coding. Exact access depends on the vehicle and manufacturer requirements.

Touchscreen Hardware and Updates

The Android platform uses a quad-core 1.3GHz processor, 32GB internal storage and a 5-inch 854 × 480 capacitive touchscreen. The 5000mAh rechargeable battery provides around six hours of continuous use.

Updates are downloaded directly through 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. No Windows computer or annual update subscription is required for routine software upgrades.
