iCarsoft CR v2.0 Multi Makes/All Systems Scan Tool

The iCarsoft CR V2.0 is a configurable multi-make diagnostic tool for households, home mechanics, fleet users and smaller workshops that know which vehicle groups they need and do not require the complete all-makes iCarsoft database.

It provides full-system diagnostics, live data, ECU information, diagnostic reports and nine service functions across 10 vehicle software groups selected during setup.

How the 10 Software Groups Work

The tool is supplied without vehicle software selected. During setup, the owner chooses up to 10 supported software groups based on the vehicles they expect to diagnose.

A software group may contain a single make or several related marques, depending on how iCarsoft packages that manufacturer. Examples can include BMW Group, Mercedes-Benz Group, Volkswagen Group, Toyota Group, Nissan Group, Hyundai/Kia, Ford, GM, Chrysler Group or Land Rover/Jaguar.

The selections are permanent. Check the available groups and vehicle coverage carefully before downloading the software.

Full-System Diagnostics

Within the installed groups, the CR V2.0 can access manufacturer-specific modules throughout supported vehicles rather than only communicating with the engine system.

Depending on the vehicle, this can include engine, transmission, ABS, airbags, instrument cluster, body control, climate control, steering, electronic parking brake, suspension, lighting and other fitted systems.

The exact systems available depend on the selected software group, vehicle make, model, year, market specification and fitted equipment.

Nine Essential Service Functions

The CR V2.0 includes the maintenance procedures most commonly required by vehicle owners and general workshops:

Service-function availability varies by selected group, make, model, year and fitted ECU. A listed function is not available on every supported vehicle.

Hardware-Version Differences

iCarsoft has produced more than one hardware version of the CR V2.0. Current manufacturer information specifies that CAN-FD, AutoVIN and freeze-frame support can depend on units with serial numbers beginning with iH.

The vehicle group and function coverage should therefore be checked using the tool’s serial version as well as the intended vehicle.

Updates and Diagnostic Reports

Software is installed and updated through a Windows computer using the supplied USB cable and storage card. Updates remain free for the life of the tool, with no annual subscription.

Previous diagnostic sessions can be reopened, and diagnostic reports can be saved or printed through a Windows computer for workshop records or future reference.
