Battery and Starter Testing

The BT900 can assess available battery information such as voltage, condition and starting performance. During a starter test, the tablet can monitor the voltage behaviour while the engine is cranked to help identify a weak battery or starting-system issue.

Available readings and interpretation depend on the connected tablet, software version, battery type and selected test standard.

Charging-System and Ripple Testing

Charging-system testing helps check alternator output and system voltage with the engine running. Ripple or pulsation testing can help identify irregular charging output that may point to an alternator or rectifier issue.

The BT900 provides test information, but diagnosis should still consider the battery specification, vehicle charging strategy, temperature and manufacturer procedures.
